Why is video so important during a wedding?
Having moving pictures or a video does something that an amazing photograph simply can’t. Seeing all the great events and moments on video allows you to essentially relive the wedding day. You get all the emotions back that were had on the wedding day. Videos are emotional and it’s why we love going to the movie theaters vs an art gallery. We love to be swept away emotionally and have experiences. So with this in mind why would you want to have the biggest event in your life not recorded to experience in this way? It is an extra expense for sure but one of the best investments that can be made. I know couples that love to watch their wedding video on their anniversary and it reminds them of the love they have for each other and strengthens their marriage. Also how great would it have been to see your parents on their wedding day and be able to experience that yourself. The bottom line is our memories aren’t perfect and on your wedding day you’ll be so occupied with everything going on it will be a blur. There is nothing better than being able to see it and relive it again and again with a wedding video.
Do you use drones to get incredible aerial shots?
Yes absolutely when able we love to get amazing aerial shots to enhance the viewers experience and set a tone for the location and venue of the wedding.
What sets you apart from other videography businesses?
One of the biggest things is we don’t do hour rates or limits. Our focus is on the couples and their wedding day. We are happy to be there to capture everything from getting ready until the sendoff. We won’t leave after 7 hours in the middle of the first dance for example (which I’ve seen). We love what we do and are always wanting to capture amazing shots. This is a full time job for us and we have years of experience and produce amazing quality for our clients. Also because we love it and aren’t worried about hours we are easy and fun to work with. There are amazing videographers that have zero personality and aren’t the easiest to be around on your wedding day. Let's be honest, the photographer and videographers will be your best friends and with you the entire wedding day. You don’t want someone that isn’t fun to work with.
What's your favorite part of the wedding day?
My favorite part is the first dance. I just love seeing the couple finally be able to look at each other and it usually clicks that they are married and have actually done it. Then there are usually great emotions and also for video I love movement and flowing dresses with amazing lighting. The first dance is my favorite for sure.
Do you have a favorite client love story?
After doing this for 15 years now I’ve definitely heard many great love stories and dramatic tales from couples. I know of childhood friends that never dated anyone else. I’ve had couples meet and have to postpone wedding dates due to a visa issue. I don’t have a specific one to share as they aren’t mine to share as much as capture.
What's the most amazing venue or location you've had the pleasure of working at?
We were just able to film a wedding in San Juan Capistrano in California. The venue was the villa and it was such a pretty location to work at. Vines growing all over the walls and just perfect. We love traveling to destination weddings and seeing new amazing scenes.
Do you charge for travel?
Inside the state of Utah we don’t have any travel fees. Outside of Utah we are very affordable and try to only cover our travel costs and not make money when traveling for destination weddings. Usually we are cheaper with our travel fees than a local videographer would be.
Do you include uncut portions of the wedding day?
Now this is something we’ve always included the ceremony uncut and all main events uncut. For example the first dance and cake cutting etc. Also toasts and speeches. We are looking at removing these options for certain clients to allow them to have a more affordable option as well as having it an add on for others that value these uncut videos.
When should a potential client begin the booking process with you?
Honestly clients should check with us for booking at the same time as getting the venue and photographer. We have weddings booked over a year in advance up to 2 months before the wedding date. The biggest issue is we can only film so many weddings as the number of wedding dates is limited so sooner the better to ensure you have the professionals you want at your wedding.
Any other advice for those looking for a videographer?
The best advice is to look at their work and be sure you like what they do and their style. Second once you have the style you prefer narrowed down try to communicate with those videographers and see how their personalities are. You want to make sure they are people you want around you the entire day. Finally if you have a videographer you like the style and personality then look at prices and figure out a way to make it work. I’m not saying to hire the most expensive or cheapest option just the best fit for you and your wedding date. Typically you will find that the best professionals that do amazing work and have great attitudes get more work and are busier and as a result are priced higher. As in most things you get what you pay for but really make sure you like their work and the shooters you’ll work with. If you do this you’ll be happy with the investment you’ve made no matter how large or small.
Forevermore Films went above and beyond our expectations! They provided the best photography we’ve ever seen and a great short video for our wedding reception. Brad also helped us get prints of our favorite photos for our reception and brought them to the venue. We can’t wait to see our video of our entire wedding and the rest of the photos on our special day. The team is also very fun to work with. I would highly recommend Forevermore Films!! Don’t go to anyone else!
